Leading brands of Dermal skin fillers have shown to be non-allergenic and merged into skin without causing any reactions. Fillers consist of Hyaluronic acid (synthesised, non-animal) which is a natural component in skin collagen, providing the bounce effect. Filler is absorbed back into skin tissue over the course of 6-12 months. Dermal skin fillers can be used to reduce the appearance of mild or severe facial lines, and also laughter lines in the nasolabial area. Most often, fillers are used in the lips which provides a fuller appearance.

Lip Fillers (Lip Enhancement, Lip Plumping)
Lip fillers can be applied using permanent or non-permanent procedures. Lip fillers use a higher number of fluid molecules than with skin fillers, thus allowing more smoothness and softness. Lip enhancement lasts between 5-9 months, often longer for some people. The main benefit of this procedure is the immediate result that you will see once you leave the clinic.
How do I prepare for lip filler treatment?
You may engage in your daily activities as normal. Refrain from using any products or cosmetics on your skin where possible, however your skin will be cleaned by the consultant before the procedure.
For lip plumping procedures, an anaesthetic block will be applied, which means that the lips will be completely numb and pain-free whilst being injected.
How do lip fillers work?
The solution placed into the skin is gel-like, which adds volume creating a more youthful complexion. Lines around the mouth, lines between the brows, and the lips are the areas which often need most attention.
Lip filler will be injected into the vermillion border (the edge of the lips) and also into the lips themselves, depending on where you would like more fullness. You will be provided with a hand mirror and you will see the effect immediately. We aim to work with you to achieve the desired look, and avoid any over fullness.
How many lip filler treatment sessions will I need?
All variants of lip filler usually last between 6-12 months. As fillers are fully biodegradable, gradually absorbing over time, each person will require a different amount of top-up sessions. You will be able to determine how many subsequent treatments you require, following your first session.
What are the side effects of lip fillers?
Lip fillers are very safe, if practised correctly. Few reported side effects such as slight bruising may occur. If this occurs, it is likely to be very minimal and can be covered with make-up. You must discuss with your consultant if you are taking any blood thinning medications such as Aspririn or Warfarin, as you may be at higher risk of bruising.
